"Magic of Grounding" Hike in Sireh Park 19th September 2025.

This morning at Sireh Park, I co-led a hike with underprivileged kids as a member of Earthkeeper and at the same time aligning with my own initiative, BioPath’s mission in citizen science, community service, environmental preservation, and biodiversity conservation. Along the way we practiced plogging to care for the environment while hiking up the twin peaks. 

What inspired me to do this is to increase the awareness of youths regarding environmental conservation. Through small chit chats with the kids I learned how they perceive the environment around them and I tried to tune into their frequency and bond with them. For instance, when we hiked up the hill I took notice of a few children making engine-like noises and I casually said to one of them "Start your engine we need to hike again.", his expression changed and suddenly lit up with happiness and ran up the hill.

I also met Camilla from Windsor, England and she lived in Singapore for 8 years. This is her first time joining Earthkeeper's activity and I'm quite happy this community service work can be joined by people internationally. The hike ended with a grounding activity walking barefoot on the grass to reconnect with nature.
